Why the Church?

This week, Ed Klett teaches on the real purpose of the church, looking through the lens of the life of Jesus Christ. Jesus knew that we’d need each other, and His church is available for us, if only we will tap into it.

A Loving, Christian Response to Addiction

This week, Maplewood tackles the opioid epidemic that is gripping our community. The impact of addiction is everywhere and Pastor Joe talks about how Christ would have us respond to this crisis. While addiction shackles and holds captive our communities, there is hope in Christ and actual things His followers can do right now to make a difference.

Obediences that Speaks Volumes

This week, Maplewood wraps up its series studying the book of Daniel. This week, Pastor Joe explores the classic story of Daniel and the lion’s den. But this story has a twist, where the King is in just as much of a pickle as Daniel finds himself in. It’s a story that underscores our obedience speaks louder than our words ever can as followers of Jesus seek to build the Kingdom.

No Matter What

This week, Maplewood continues to study the benefits of obeying God. Our focus is on the familiar story of Daniel 3, where faith and loyalty are tested. And we realize that people who love God are obedient…no matter what.

Mind Opening Obedience

The book of Daniel will be our focus for the next several weeks at Maplewood. This week, Pastor Joe kicks off a new series that aims to help us understand the benefits of living in obedience to God. Obedience not only expresses our love for God and others, it helps us ascend to a new level of kingdom living, here on Earth.

Co-builders with God 1-20-19

Even though Mother Nature impacted our ability to get together again this week at Maplewood, we wanted to share a few thoughts to encourage and challenge you this week from God’s Word. Why does an all powerful and all knowing God choose to partner with human beings to build His kingdom? Pastor Joe takes a stab at the answer by reflecting on Isaiah 62:1-5.

Podcast: Why Did Jesus Have to Be Baptized?

Have you ever wondered why Jesus had to be baptized? John the Baptist did. And he even asked Jesus for an answer–straight up. This week’s Maplewood podcast is our “blizzard bag” edition. Winter weather canceled our weekly service, but Pastor Joe offers up some thoughts about Matthew 3 and the implications on the sacrament of baptism and our personal obedience to Jesus Christ.
